Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 15 October 2026
These terms apply to driving lessons provided by Newland Driving School Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17483504) with its registered office at 73 Welbeck Street, Hull, HU5 3SB. By booking a lesson you agree to these terms.
Before your first lesson
- You must hold a valid UK provisional (or full) driving licence and bring it to every lesson.
- You must be able to read a number plate from 20 metres in good daylight, wearing glasses or contact lenses if you need them.
- You must tell us about any medical condition or medication that could affect your driving, as required by the DVLA.
Prices and payment
- Lessons cost £41 per hour for manual and automatic cars. Discounted packages are shown on our prices.
- Pay for single lessons before or at the start of the lesson, unless we agree otherwise.
- Pay for packages in full before the first lesson of the package.
- We may change our prices. Packages you've already paid for are not affected.
Packages and refunds
- If you stop lessons before using all your package hours, you can ask for a refund. We work it out by charging the hours you've used at the standard hourly rate (£41), then refunding the rest of what you paid.
- Packages are personal to you and can't be transferred to someone else.
Your right to cancel
If you book by phone, WhatsApp or online, you have 14 days from booking to cancel and get a full refund. If you ask us to start lessons within those 14 days, we'll deduct the cost of any lessons already given. This does not affect your other legal rights as a consumer.
Cancellations and missed lessons
See our Cancellation Policy.
During lessons
- Follow your instructor's instructions and drive within the law at all times.
- You are responsible for any fines or penalty points caused by deliberately ignoring your instructor's instructions.
- We can end a lesson if continuing would be unsafe, or if you behave abusively towards your instructor or other road users.
- Lessons start and finish at an agreed pick-up point.
Driving tests
You book your theory and practical tests with the DVSA. We'll tell you when we think you're ready, but the decision to take a test is yours, and we can't guarantee a pass.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with any part of our service, call 07895 146600 or email info@newlanddrivingschool.co.uk and we'll try to put it right. If a complaint about an instructor's conduct isn't resolved, you can contact the DVSA.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
